"Made In Japan 50" er en moderne revitalisering af et album, der cementerede Deep Purple som live-legender. Et album, der stadig står som en af hard rockens mest monumentale udgivelser og regnes for et af musikhistoriens allerbedste livealbums.

Steven Wilson har skabt friske, nye stereo- og Dolby Atmos-mixes af den oprindelige trackliste til denne luksuriøse 5CD + Blu-ray boks, der vækker den fulde kraft og stemning fra de legendariske aftener i Japan til live for lytteren på en helt ny måde. Boksen indeholder det originale album, nyligt mixet af Steven Wilson, samt tre discs med de komplette optagelser fra de tre koncerter i Japan, mixet af Richard Digby Smith + en bonusdisc med sjældne encore-numre og single edits.

Med bandets ikoniske Mk II-besætning (Gillan, Blackmore, Lord, Glover, Paice) i topform indfanger 'Made In Japan' en rå og improviseret energi omkring studieklassikere som "Smoke On The Water", "Highway Star" og "Space Truckin’" samt fanfavoritter som "Child In Time", "Strange Kind Of Woman" og "Speed King", der på smukkeste vis accentuerer kvaliteten af disse hard rock-perler.
