The Doyayo Language: Selected Studies (Sil International and the University of Texas at Arlington Publications in Linguistics, Vol.121)

Presents five articles about phonology, indicative verb structure, tone patterns of nominals, major syntactic structures, and folk tale features of Doyayo.

Represents research on the Doyayo language using a descriptive linguistic approach. Doyayo is spoken by 15,000 people and belongs to the Duru group of the Adamawa-Eastern language family in northern and northwestern Cameroon. This volume makes collected data available to the academic community and the Doyayos to contribute to the ongoing study of their language.

Elisabeth and Marinus Wiering arrived in Poli, northhern Cameroon in 1971 and began their linguistic research under a cooperative agreement between SIL International and the Federal University of Cameroon.
