Born into a dysfunctional family, Kenny struggles to make sense of life while under the care of his abusive stepfather. From the outset, his stepfather makes it clear he would rather see Kenny dead than to support him. Surviving the physical and mental abuse is the most difficult part of life for Kenny-until he becomes an adult. It is then he discovers the demons in his head are a far more dangerous adversary than anything he has experienced during childhood. He attempts to live a normal life, but he can only perceive the world as his stepfather taught him. Only one hope remains in order for him to survive adult life-an experience with God.
