Sustainable Tall Building: Integration of Sustainable Structure Within the Architectural Design of a Tall Building

?Sustainable Tall Buildings?, ?Self Sufficient Ultra-tall Towers?, ?Tall & Green Architecture? etc. are expressions used by architects and engineers to conceptualize and/or define building designs. Whatever the building may be called, the structure has to sustain it. The primary argument is in relation to what constitutes a sustainable tall building. Most architects focus on sustainability from the standpoint of the architectural expression and/or the mechanical systems. The design of the structure is often given less significance in the sustainable strategy of the project as structure by its very nature is considered the most sustainable component in a tall building. However, it needs to be realized that certain design strategies can be adopted to enhance the sustainable performance of the structure in a tall building.
