By The Bluest Of Seas

Boris Barnet and S. Mardanin direct this 1930s Soviet Union comedy drama. Shipwrecked on an inhabited Caspian Sea island, friends Aliosha (Nikolai Kryuchkov) and Yussuf (Lev Sverdlin), a mechanic and a sailor, go to work on a collective farm where they both fall for the lovely administrator Masha (Yelena Kuzmina).

As they fight for her affections, their work and the community suffer.
