The War Prayer
Mark Twain
?The War Prayer,? was left unpublished until six years after Twain?s death because his family pressured him to keep it to himself. A friend asked if he would publish it anyway and he replied, "No, I have told the whole truth in that, and only dead men can tell the truth in this world. It can be published after I am dead."
It finally saw print in 1916. Now you can add this amazing prose poem/story to your personal collection. It's powerful stuff.
