FIRST LIGHT

"There are no old roads
to new destinations . . .
follow your road."

Mike Tucker

A stunning work of poetry, FIRST LIGHT is a brilliant meditation on journeys of the heart--as Mike Tucker says in FIRST LIGHT, "You are the answer to your own dreams/Have the courage to live them." Inspired by his journeys in Europe, the Near East, the Hindu Kush, Southeast Asia and North China, FIRST LIGHT is a fresh, compelling meditation on gratitude and a point-blank assault on Trump by Mike Tucker, the only writer who was on missions with American snipers in both the Near East and Hindu Kush after September 11th:
"Stand for an America where three year old children
do not stand crying and alone,
ripped from the arms of their mothers and fathers,
in tears and in rags, scarred for life now
because Trump only cares about three things--
money, money and money--
Stand against Trump and take a stand for America,
Ride with justice and you will never ride alone."
Mike Tucker
