The Kamorian Gate

Threatened with death by the Council's Army under General Allain, the extent of Jallis Ruffin's betrayal of the people and the greed of the Council members arise again and again as Claire, Pem, Gilbert and baby Burton travel across the land to the Great Gate at Kamoria near the Faultline Mountains. The land itself rises to aid Claire. An encounter with the One Mother of the Dark Forest aids them in their flight, but will it be enough? Pem clings to the thought that, with the aid of the Saharos, Ranapui's son Darcil, the Traders and the miners, he can yet rally enough of the people to overthrow the influence of Jallis Ruffin. In the final moments, Captain Allain's pledge to honor proves to be his fatal downfall. The sociopath Magister, Jallis Ruffin, corners the band of loyal followers in a final, desperate battle. The arrival on Earth by Claire, Gilbert, and baby Burton intersects with grandmother Wendy Miller, and initiates the breaking of the cycle.
