Have you recently experienced a divorce that has knocked you down?We often have this idea in our mind of what our lives are supposed to be and what it'll look like in the future, and whether it's divorce or separation that vision is often shattered. When life takes this turn it's easy to fall on your face and feel like there's no purpose. It's easy to become embarrassed or overwhelmed and in turn, begin to isolate. It's easy to become hopeless and give up. Going through my divorce was one of the most difficult things I have ever experienced. Letting go of the image I had in my head about my family, life, dreams, and plans felt unbearable. I had to learn to create a new picture in my head and mentally doing this was more difficult than physically trying to understand. For a long time, I allowed myself to believe that I had to remain in a hurt place. After being sick and tired for so long I decided that I couldn't live my life like this forever. Through my experience I learned that the only way to get unstuck was to make a choice. It's simple to assume that certain things have to happen for us to be free of negative thinking or a stuck mindset. And if you sit and wait for a breakthrough you could be sitting and waiting for your entire life. Trust me that's no fun. You have to create your own breakthroughs. You have to decide that you deserve more. You have to believe in yourself and your future. You have to let yourself be happy again. Surviving Your Split will teach you just that
