Another addictive read from D R Rose, a follow-up story to The Second Twin. In this thriller about the strange world of the Binaries, a journalist tries to penetrate the secret base near Oxford, which develops into dangerous missions to track down telepath hunters. Cassandra takes part in a bonding ceremony in France but is horrified by the communal nurseries where babies are conditioned and trained in skills for spying - plus some of the other seemingly barbaric traditions of the organization. With exciting twists in every chapter, the action moves on to Morocco and Cadiz, where Cassandra helps with a mission and devises ways of repairing damaged telepathic minds. She has to prove herself to the sceptical Binary community and rediscovers contacts from the outside world - as well as solving and devising codes to protect those she loves.
