Spare Parts Logistics for Sofia: Development of a Dispatching System to Control the Spare Parts Logistics for the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (Sofia)

This work shows the development of a dispatching system to supply the telescope of the Stratospheric Observatory For Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) with spare parts. It introduces the theory of logistics ¿ in particular the spare parts logistics. Current processes become analyzed and weak points are inspected. Design of concept is comprised of: warehouse administration software, warehouse, material planning strategies, part number allocation for the dispatching system as well as the evaluation of variants.
