Trends in Hydro-meteorological Extremes in Satluj River Basin
Mohammed Sharif
Global climate is changing in an unprecedented manner. A major impact of climate change is on the occurrence of frequency and magnitude of flood and drought events. This book describes a methodology for the evaluation of trends in hydro-meteorological extremes in Satluj river Basin, India. A composite analysis approach has been presented for the detection of linkages between hydro-meteorological extremes and large scale climate indices such as the El-Nino southern oscillation index and the Pacific decadal oscillation. The results presented in the book can provide valuable aid to water system managers and policy makers in the formulation of effective adaptation and mitigation strategies in the Satluj River basin.
