The JOY AND SORROW OF PRACTICING MEDICINE

Dr. Gholam H. Farboody is a physician specializing in internal medicine and the sub-specialty of nephrology, which is kidney disease. In addition, he obtained his American board certification in pathology. He has been practicing medicine for nearly fifty years. This book is a compilation of over one hundred events that he has found so interesting that he made notes of these occurrences at the time they occurred. This book is the result of his sharing of these events. He was born in Iran and arrived in the United States in July 1973 to start his training, initially as an intern in internal medicine at Prince George's General Hospital, Cheverly, Maryland, then in pathology at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. Later, he moved to Canada for additional study in internal medicine and nephrology at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada. Due to his many years of study, he was granted four different specialty board certifications in the United States and two in Canada.
