Made In China

Made In China tells the story of the Pacific confrontation to come - one in which a wealthy, prosperous and determined China is prepared at last to assert itself as a genuine Superpower. Li Kejiang has made himself 'President-For-Life, ' and is determined to fulfill China's destiny as the preeminent power in the Pacific. The precursor to his ambitious plans is an ultra-secret contingency that has been in the works for decades. Dr. Han Jin Li has served her nation as a specialist in brain surgery. She had convinced herself that the procedures and technologies she had helped to develop were meant to give China's unwanted, 'throw-away girls, ' a second chance; but as her government proceeds with its diabolical plans, she is forced to confront her own complicity. Her subjects - she is not permitted to refer to the baby girls as 'patients' - have been made into assassins and saboteurs to further the ambitions of China's Communist Party. Following the swift seizure of the South China Sea, communist forces are focused on the subjugation of Taiwan. Across the Pacific and in the United States, Chinese sleeper agents, adopted into prominent families, are activated to carry out their deadly missions to destabilize governments and sow chaos across the Pacific. While Japan and Australia respond forcefully to China's blatant aggression, a beleaguered President Henry Johnson considers his options, hoping to avoid a wider war even as his own Cabinet is decimated by assassinations. As the conflict intensifies, Dr. Carol Shekell and her team race to deliver their touted Hyper-Velocity Intercept Kinetic-Kill, or HyVIKK anti-ballistic missile system to the U. S. Army and Navy in time to counter China's ballistic missile threat to Taiwanese and U. S. forces. Dr. Shekell is unaware of her own role as one of China's legion of sleeper agents, until she is caught sabotaging the efforts of her DARPA team. Only the resolve of the people and Self-Defense Forces of the Republic of China forestall their seemingly inevitable defeat at the hands of their overwhelmingly superior foe from the mainland. With his plans stalled, Li Kejiang makes the fateful decision to use communist China's nuclear weapons against American bases in Hawaii and the western U. S., believing the limited strike will dissuade the Americans from intervening in what he considers the 'internal' matter of reunification. Solidifying American resolve instead, the United States Navy and Air Forces launch precision conventional strikes meant to destroy the mainland's air, naval and ballistic missile forces to give the U. S. and its allies time to reinforce Taiwan. It is only the hasty deployments of U. S. Marine and Army forces that allow the ROC's forces to halt the seaborne invasion of their tiny island on the beaches. Made In China is a fast-paced techno-thriller in the style of early Tom Clancy and Dale Brown novels - a gripping story of what many political and military officials around the world believe will be the next major military conflict.
