The Rescue

Six days prior to the World War Two Normandy Invasion, a senior SOE (Special Operations Executive) with knowledge of the plan is flown to a neutral country to discuss its potential outcome. Soon after touchdown he is kidnapped by the S. S. and transported to a castle somewhere in Bavaria for interrogation. In order to prevent his knowledge of those plans being revealed British Intelligence will need to either eliminate or rescue him.

Spencer Beresford, an out of work actor, someone who has probably spent too much of his time at the cinema watching films and SOE`s most recent recruit devises a rescue plan so ridiculous, so unconventional, yet so simple, it might just succeed. Armed with a briefcase and a ball of string he is parachuted into enemy territory to put his plan to the test. Does it work? Well almost. However, let down by events beyond his control, like a prearranged exit plan, matters begin to escalate into a vendetta of survival.



Completely alone he is pursued across Europe by a one armed German fanatic so determined he will stop at nothing to ensure his capture. Relying on his wits and some of his past theatrical experience Beresford devises several daring diversions that enable him to almost but not quite, remain one step ahead.
