The Hero

US drama co-written and directed by Brett Haley. The film follows Lee Hayden (Sam Elliott), an experienced actor and former Western star struggling to find work. Forced to resort to doing voice overs for adverts, Lee is given devastating news when he is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Looking to hide his condition from those around him, Lee finds his life takes a new turn when he meets and falls for stand-up comedian Charlotte Dylan (Laura Prepon). However, with his health deteriorating, Lee must face up to his fate and confesses his secret to the only person he trusts, Charlotte.
