The Valley of Fear is the last published work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring Sherlock Holmes. It is a dark, powerful tale, which provides the great detective with the most perplexing case and opens with a vile murder. But the brilliant Holmes soon reveals that there is much more to this tale of murder than first meets the eye. He is determined to get to the bottom of it. The story was first serialized in the Strand Magazine between September 1914 and May 1915.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, born in 1859 was an Irish-Scots writer and physician. He was best known for his detective fictional stories featuring the character Sherlock Holmes and his side-kick Dr. Watson. Conan Doyle's stories, with their ingenious plots are still being read all over the world. He was a prolific writer whose works include nearly 200 novels, science fiction stories, plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction and historical novels.
