Géza Anda, one of the great pianists of his time, was especially celebrated for his Mozart interpretations. One of his recordings at Deutsche Grammophon in particular achieved immense popularity: The 2nd movement (Andante) of the Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major (KV 467) served as the soundtrack of the Swedish feature film "Elvira Madigan" (known in German-speaking countries as "Das End of a great love "), which led to the work becoming widely known as the" Elvira Madigan Concerto ". The complete recording of the concert appeared together with the Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major (KV 453), the cover was adorned with a film photo of actress Pia Degermark as Elvira Madigan. For Géza Anda's 100th birthday in November 2021, this recording will now be released again on vinyl in a 180 gram pressing, based on the master of the original source and using the original artwork.
